Administrative HistoryThe Midland Counties Electric Supply Co Ltd was formed In 1912 as the Tramway Light and Power Company by George Balfour (1872-1941). It acquired a number of other companies, and in 1921 was renamed the Midland Counties Electric Supply Co Ltd. It was nationalised under the Electricity Act 1947.
