Administrative History
Clifton was originally part of the parish of Ashbourne St Oswald (see ref D662). The new church was consecratged in 1845, initially as a district chapelry of Ashbourne. It became a separate parish in 1846. The parish includes Compton.

Records in this collection were first deposited with records of the Parish of Ashbourne St Oswald (D662) and were reaccessioned in November 2000. Further records were deposited in June 1993, November 2000, February 2001, July 2007, May 2009 and May 2016.
