Administrative History | William Fletcher first appears in a trade directory of 1881, in which he is described as a lace manufacturer, together with Thomas Fletcher, in Long Eaton, which was a major centre for the industry at the time. By 1887 they had moved to premises at 279 Osmaston Road, Derby. In 1912 the business was incorporated as a limited company, operating at Chaddesden Works. It remained a lace manufacturing firm until 1968, when its activities centred on the letting of factory premises. From 1988 to its liquidation in 1992, it was concerned with investment in property and quoted securities. |
