Administrative History
The Independent later Congregational Church began as prayer meetings in private houses until the Chapel was built in 1811 on land given by Samuel Dearnally. The Chapel was enlarged in 1845 and renovated in 1886. The first Sunday School building was opened in 1840 and a new school building opened in 1881 when a Day School was started.

These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office from March 1993.
