The Butterfields and other closes, Brackenfield:
Feoffment by bargain and sale by Richard Calton of Stanton gent. and George Hodgkinson of Northedge in the parish of Ashover gent. to William Fletcher of Brackenfield yeoman of the upper parlour and chamber over it, part of a messuage in the tenure of William and of George Redford, and the new bay in the corn barn, and half of the threshing space in the said barn, a stable, an ox house and a bay of building, a foddering place adjoining a certain wain house, the neather garden, and the following closes: Hodge Croft, Leavy Croft, the Hodge Leyes, the Barn Yard, Taylors Croft, the Butterfield, and the Horsefield, all in Brackenfield. Consideration £97, part of a sum of £3560 paid to the Hon. Henry Howard for the sale of his estate. Dated 4 January
