Mortgage by demise for term of 1000 years by Francis Clay to John Wall of Wensley in the parish of Darley esq. of two messuages in Brackenfield, Green Croft, Upper Meadow, Nether Meadow, Butterfield, Royal Close, Nether New Close, Upper New Close, Upper Hedd, Nether Heald, the Milne Lands, Royal Acre, the Wheatfields, the Broomhill, the Rushy Pasture, the Nearer Field, and the Nether Field, containing in all some 64 acres. Consideration £400; interest 4½ per cent. Dated 30 December 1775; endorsed with further mortgage in £200. 20 March 1779
