Settlement on the marriage of Thomas Oldham, second son of Samuel Oldham of Higham yeoman and Mary his wife, and Dorothy Johnson one of the daughters of John Johnson of Winster bar-master, whereby Samuel Oldham of Higham yeoman conveys to Thomas Clay of Higham gent. and George Norman of Winster leadmerchant all those closes of land in Shirland called Shirland Field Sides (12 acres), and the Birkin Stile (3 acres), to hold in trust, etc. Marriage portion £300.
