The infant school was first opened in 1871 on a site at Rose Hill. It later moved to Madeley Street. Its present site is Leonard Street. For plans dated 1871 see D335R/P 262-268 and for papers on St James Schools dated 1865-1929 see D3308/7/1/1-40.
