DescriptionReferring to back to 1765 will of Nicholas Hurt of Alderwasley to sister Elizabeth Hurt. All that dwelling house in possession of Mrs Gell with stable, garden and all other apps. To her sister Elizabeth Hurt for her life, after her death to his brother Francis Hurt, until Chas Hurt his nephew should arrive at 21 years. 780 tripartite agreement Charles Hurt, Nicholas Hurt nephew and heir of Anthony 1st part, Richard Arkwright & Susanna spinster daughter of Sir Richard Arkwright, 2nd part, Philip Gell and John Toplis the younger 3rd part. Marriage settlement between Sir Richard Arkwright and Charles Hurt for £5000 marriage portion of Susanna Arkwright, further sum of £15000 to be paid for the property- dwelling house in occupation of Mr Thomas Southern Surgeon, yearly rent £13, also all houses, & other freehold property belonging to Charles Hurt in Wirksworth, to the use of Susanna Hurt his intended wife for her natural life, and children of their bodies. 1823 Deed Poll under hands & seal of Charles Hurt and Susanna his wife, their children Susanna wife of John Ryle of Park House near Macclesfield, Charles Hurt the younger, Richard Hurt, and Mary Anne wife of Peter Arkwright of Rock House, Frances Hurt, spinster, Edward Nicholas Hurt of Lincolns Inn and Rev. Jno[?] .. Thomas Hurt of Bestow, Nottingham, property as above 1780, spilt into 14 parts. 1835 Susanna Hurt by will of Jan 5th 1835, died May 4th 1835.
