Joseph Helling of Ripley, ironmonger
Administrative History
Joseph Helling was born in Ulverston, Lancashire c1834. He retired some time between the 1901 and 1911 census. His daughter Mary Elizabeth Helling (1865-1958) who was living with him at the time of the 1901 census, was running a stationers and newsagents business from Oxford Street by the time of the 1911 census. Joseph was living on Greaves Street with his second wife, also Mary.
