Description
Volumes labelled Peter Nightingale's Land Estate: memoranda of purchases and sales of property, with surveys, valuations and rentals, relating to Peter Nightingale of Lea's property in Dethick, Lea, Crich, Wakebridge and Matlock. These relate to the estate during the time of Peter Nightingale (d 1763) his son Peter Nightingale (d 1803) and the executors of the second Peter Nightingale [in 1815 Peter Nightingale's heir William Edward Shore came of age and adopted the name Nightingale]. The first volume contains few rentals. The second and third up to 1815 chiefly consist of rentals.
