Title
Copy letter by William Longsdon to Lord George Cavendish thanking him for a copy of Mr Goschen's proposed bill for Local Taxation, discoursing on inequity of system bearing only on real property, regretting the abolition of the property and income tax of 10% imposed some 70 years ago which should never have been repealed, and commenting that the point is not one of self-interest because if his wish was acceded to his public rates would be rather increased, 17 April 1871
