Title
J W Lace at Bromsgrove to Fanny [Lace]. Feeling very jolly - quarter marks given out yesterday - gone up 4 places - head in Mathematics. Football not popular - only 1 game a year. `Hoccy' all the go at present but JW thinks football more fun. Nailers been out of work for some time - does not know what riots have been going on. Some Dragoons in town at present - learning dancing this quarter. 16 October 1846
