Description	Thanks for letter of 14th received here last night with Mary E's first letter - heard of his safe arrival from Frank and Ben by previous packet. Ben having written him about his desire, determination subject only to his decided opposition to live in England - informing him that subject been talked of with his sisters and William Longsdon. Hoped he would have said something on subject. Was favourite notion of his when George gave hopes of being a business man that one should be constantly at Birmingham as a branch of the New York house. No doubt if Frank approves Ben's scheme could be very beneficial to business. Hopes Frank not left New York without some intimation of brother's prospects so that it can be discussed when he arrives without appearance of being kept from his knowledge until writer had been consulted. Hopes Frank on his arrival will not press him to meet him in England but rather accept his invitation to come to him there for a few days. No trophies of salmon skins adorn his chambers but kippered trophy going to Glasgow to supply the tables of his friends on Windsor Terrace. Been here 9 days. Killed only 2 salmon 131b and 101b - discusses fishing prospects on river and loch.
