announcing receipt of letter of 28th Ult. from Mr Shipton intimating that name placed in Commission of the Peace. Permit writer to convey thanks for this mark of confidence and to say that he hopes neither him nor his Grace the Duke of Devonshire may hereafter find any reason to regret having conferred that Trust upon him.
Tomorrow William proceeds to Derby for purpose of qualifying.
