Title21 February 1816
London. John Longsdon to Mother. News of social engagements and visit to Ross in Trynning.
Several letters from William - latest 15 January at Charleston and planning to move north.
No answer yet from WHM about land. Hopes she received cocoa safe. Eurydice which carried her first letter for William has arrived at New York and Regent is out at sea going well. News of Barrow and Morewood family. Glad she likes coffee - not heard whether Uncle received 5 1b of which requested James to make him a present for writer. What does she pay for loaf sugar? It is worth her while to join with Mrs Barker and other neighbours from here. Writer could lay it down at Chesterfield for 14d 1b which is probably 1d or 2d less than she pays.
