Description
The Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist Circuits were amalgamated in 1933. At that time there were 16 societies, of which 8 had been Wesleyan (Buxton Wesley, Burbage, Brand Top, Earl Sterndale, Harpur Hill, Fairfield Road, Long Ridge Lane and Peak Dale) and 8 Primitive Methodist (Ladmanlow, Buxton London Road, Chelmorton, Flagg, Monyash, Taddington, Fairfield Queen's Road and Upper End). In 1985 the circuit comprised the societies of Buxton, Earl Sterndale, Hollinsclough, Longnor, Rewlach, Fairfield, Peak Dale, Burbage (now closed), Harpur Hill, Chelmorton, Flagg, Taddington and Monyash.
