Administrative History | First formed from an art class in 1877, by 1902 the School of Art, later the Chesterfield and District School of Art and Crafts, was given accommodation in the Grammar School on Sheffield Road. In 1952, it became known as Chesterfield College of Art and Design. By 1976 it was in new accommodation on Sheffield Road.
Chesterfield and District Technical College, later Chesterfield College of Technology, was opened in 1927 on Infirmary Road and enlarged in 1958 and 1964.
The Colleges of Technology and Art and Design were amalgamated as Chesterfield College of Technology and Arts on the Sheffield Road/Infirmary Road site in 1984. |
