Agreement of lease between:
1) William Bagshaw of Ford gent, Arnold Kirk of Martinside gent, Thomass Kirk of Spirehollin yeoman, William Ashe of Tideswell gent, Simon Buxton of Litton tailor, Thomas Marriott of Ughill co York gent, Thomas Cresswell of Tideswell ironmonger and John Champion of Edall End yeoman
2) Robert Burrowes the elder of ‘Bradwall’ miner.
Recites that Thomas Marriott late of Ughill gent now deceased conveyed in trust on 6 Jul 1 Anne to William Bagshaw and others (some now deceased) several messuages, lands etc at Smalldale and Hope within the fields etc of ‘Bradwall’, Hope and Smalldale. Agreement that William Bagshaw and others named will lease to Burrows the premises formerly occupied by Thomas Toss late of ‘Bradwall’ miner deceased and now in possession of his widow, for 21 years. Burrows will pay £4 annual rent to the Reverend John Ash and Mr James Clegg, ministers of the gospel, or such other persons as shall be appointed to preach or teach at the new erected meeting house at ‘Bradwall’ (further details) and he will make provision each monthly Sabbath for the minister teaching or preaching there. Further details including agricultural covenant. Endorsed with draft bond from Edward Cook to Dorothy Beard to pay her sums of money with reference to an assignment
