Copy, made 24 Mar 1729/30 of the will of Rowland Okeover of Okeover (Staffordshire) dated 7 Dec 1727 and codicil 14 Feb 1728/1729. Okeover in Staffordshire, Atlow and Mapleton. including provision to purchase messuage and lands now held by the curate of Atlow, or other property, in trust for the curates of Atlow, and other provisions in favour of the curates of Atlow

Description
Bequests to poor of Mapleton, Okeover, Ashbourne, Atlow and Wymeswold (Leicestershire). Ratifies former settlement in trust of lands in Atlow and hosue in Mapleton for maintenance of organist for organ placed by Rowland Okoever in Okeover Church and boys and girls of Okeover, Mapleton and Atlow to sing to the organ, for putting boys and girls from the same places apprentice and for the building of a house at Mapleton with 3 apartments for 3 clerymen’s widows and allowance for their maintenance. Includes monetary bequests, references to members of family

Administrative History
Gosforth School, Dronfield, was opened as a secondary school in 1955. Following reorganisation of secondary education provision in Dronfield. It closed in 1990 and pupils transferred to Henry Fanshawe School, Dronfield.
Custodial History
The records were transferred when the school closed in 1990. An additional transfer was made in March 1991 from Henry Fanshawe School, Dronfield, its successor.
