Administrative History
Chesterfield Borough established a police force following the Police Act of 1836, with its headquarters at Beetwell Street. The force then comprised a Chief Constable, one inspector and eight constables. By the 1920s, the force had two divisions: the Central Division and Whittington Division. The Chesterfield Borough Police amalgamated with the Derbyshire Constabulary in 1947.
