Birchenough's position as Executive Director : correspondence between Birchenough, Maguire, Hawksley and Gell re offer of another post, in Constantinople, to Birchenough and his subsequent queries as to the permanence of the arrangement effected in the British South Africa Company re-organisation of 1908;
comments by Gell on Birchenough's inability to stand up against Fox, and the inadequate hours of attendance put in on British South Africa Company business in relation to time spent on railways, other companies or outside commitments.
