| Title | Group photograph of Lewanika (c1842-1916) King of Barotseland, with two African men (taken on visit to England for coronation of King Edward VII) |
| Date | [1901] |
| Description | According to information provided by Lewanika's great-great granddaughter Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe in December 2016, the man seated on Lewanika's right is probably his Prime Minister (Ngambela) Mokamba. The man seated on Lewanika's left is likely to be a Mosotho interpreter (who would translate between the Silozi and Sesotho languages - his posture is typically Musutu). The photograph of Mokamba bears clear resemblance to photographs in the possession of Mukwae Wabei Siyolwe. |
