This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
[Parish of South Normanton.] A Descripcion of the Demesne att Carnfeild belonging to Robt. Revell Esq. taken 14th and 16th Aprill Anno Domini 1693 Iohannes Halton descripsit. Surveyor:John Halton. Scale: of 20 chaines or 1/4 of a mile [1:4200]. dividers Size: 39.5 x 50 cm. Materials: ink on parchment. Centred on: SK435560 Notes: cardinal points in margin, top of sheet east. Estate map, 228 acres, named closes with area, boundaries drawn as hedges, spaced trees and walls: roads, some gated, paths: rough bird's-eye view of Hall (not named) with 4 gables and outbuildings: substantial house on 'Gleebe': woods, adjoining parishes, and owners: title in roughly drawn strapping: cartographer named in scroll at statement of scale: border style, straw plaiting associated with this surveyor.
