Title
Lease for possession and marriage settlement between Sir Charles Bromfield of Barton-under-Needwood, bart, and Dame Theodosia his wife, and Samuel Steele of Oreton-on-the-Hill, Leics, and John Steele of Oreton, by which, in consideration of a marriage already had between Sir Charles and Lady Theodosia and £700, the fortune of the said Theodosia, Bromfield has released to the Steeles, all that capital messuage or mansion house in Barton-under-Needwood where Sir Charles Bromfield lives with croft or backside adjoining, and two messuages, farms or tenements in Barton called the Parke and Bradbury's Liveing, in the holdings of Thomas Hollier and Isaac Fox with all lands etc belonging, and closes called the Carr, in the occupation of Arthur Tooby, the Spires, Lincroft Close, Ware Piece (enclosed from Barton Catholme) in the occupation of Sir Charles Bromfield: to the use of Sir Charles Bromfield for life, after his decease to the use of Dame Theodosia for life for her jointure and dower, then to the heirs of their bodies and in default to the use of the heirs and assigns of Sir Charles Bromfield. Dated 13/14 January 1720
