| Administrative History | Newhall Central Board School was created in August 1895 from the combination of Newhall Oversetts and Newhall High Street Schools. The school was mixed until 1914 when separate Boys and Girls Council schools were formed. In 1939, the school became a Secondary Mixed School, moving to new premises in 1959 owing to sever mining subsidence damage to the original buildings. The school was renamed the William Allitt County Secondary School in 1959 and became a comprehensive in 1966. In September 2022, the school ceased to exist and was replaced by William Allitt Academy. |
