Derwent Valley Water Board
Administrative History
The Severn Trent Water Authority was established in 1974 under the Water Act 1973. It took over all water supply and sewage disposal operations previously carried out by a number of water boards and local authorities within the Severn and Trent drainage basins. In Derbyshire these included the Derwent Valley Water Board, the North Derbyshire Water Board, the South Derbyshire Water Board as well as the sewage disposal activities of various local authorities. Both the North and South Derbyshire Water Boards were themselves products of earlier amalgamations.
Custodial History
Records deposited by the Severn Trent Water Authority between 1986 and 2000, inherited from various predecessor organisations within Derbyshire. Additional records were received in November 2015 (see D3040/UL).
