Archive Reference / Library Class No.
D2928/9/14
Title
Correspondence primarily between Lewis Straw and Major D Graham Pole and concern whether or not Major Pole intends to put himself forward for reselection as the South Derbyshire candidate
Date
Jan 1932-Dec 1932
Description
There is evidence of a breakdown in the relationship bewteen Mr Sraw and Major Pole, and Major Pole eventually decided not to stand as a candidate. A copy of the outcome of a later (1933) investigation into this is included in the bundle. Subsequent letters suggest difficulties between Mr Straw, and representatives of the National Headquarters and also with Mr Drinkwater, the National Organiser for the Midlands area.
