Description
Viscount Scarsdale had always wanted to see one, he had seen stoats, mink, foreign otters, an otter slide and tracks in Scotland. He also refers to: the extent of the estate which he inherited in 1925 and its brooks and water; the shooting of a dog otter from the Robert Adam Bridge by the park keeper before 1914-1918 war; the finding of partly and completely eaten fish; the possible visit of an otter to the swimming pool at Kedleston in 1967; the possible sighting of an otter from the Adam Bridge in Autumn 1969; and the trapping of otters in Brailsford Brook 4 or 5 years previously. Viscount Scarsdale would also like a family of otters on his lakes.
