Administrative History | Lea Green House was built for the lead merchant Joseph Wass in 1839. After the house and estate were bought in 1895 by Mr JB Marsden-Smedley, the building was considerably enlarged. Lea Green remained the family's property until 1960 when the house and estate were purchased by Derbyshire County Council for £10,500. Following extensive renovation, it became Lea Green Centre, used as a conference, youth and sports training facility. |
