Parish of Littleover St Peter
Administrative History
Littleover was originally a parochial chapelry of the parish of Mickleover, served by the vicar of Mickleover and a stipendiary curate. For poor law and other civil purposes however the township of Littleover was always entirely separate from Mickleover. Littleover became a completely separate parish and its own benefice was established in 1866.
Because of the close connection with Mickleover before 1866, there is some intermixing of the entries for the two parishes in their registers. This may also explain some of the gaps in the Littleover registers.
Custodial History
The records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in December 1983, July 1994 and May 2011. Added to the catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project with the help of volunteer JGF
