Administrative HistoryThe firm of solicitors which became Lymn and Cotman was founded by Frederick Charles Lymn (1854-1930) who practised first in Matlock Bath and later in Matlock. As well as undertaking work for private clients F C Lymn held a number of local government positions: he was appointed clerk of the Matlock Bath Local Board in 1890 and subsequently acted as clerk to Matlock Bath District Council.
