TitleLymn and Cotman, solicitors: box 5
Date1893-1924
DescriptionMost of the contents of this box concern a proposal in the early 1920s by the Matlocks Urban District Council to amalgamate that council with neighbouring councils of Matlock Bath and Scarthin Nick, North Darley, South Darley and Bonsall, together with the parishes of Cromford and Tansley which at that time were detached portions of Bakewell Rural District Council. The proposal generated opposition: local public inquires were held in January 1923 and February 1924; and the matter was the subject of an adjournment debate in Parliament.
