Title
The Foundation
Description
The Foundation originally denoted the Grammar School and the Almshouses, but it came to mean the body which owns and has responsibility for land, property and investments which it runs in the school's interest. Though different from the school governors, it appears that separate Foundation governors were not appointed until 1950. It is therefore recommended to consult both the records of the Foundation and the records of the Governors. Records of accounts listed in the school administration section would also be of interest.
