Administrative History | High and Low Leas were ancient farms on the Nightingale estate until the early 1920s. Each had a portion of Littlemoor Wood. Another small farm, on the north side of the wood, was known as Littlemoor Gardens, and later Littlemoor Wood Farm. The various property had been purchased by Richard Melville Beaumont (1909-1998) and his wife
he freehold of the whole of Littlemoor Wood ultimately came to a descendant, who sold Littlemoor Wood Farm in 2016, with the original Littlemoor Wood Farm portion of the wood and a part of the original High Leas Farm portion. Mary (d. 1997) in several stages after 1957. As of 2023, parts of Low Leas and all of High Leas continue to be owned and run by the Beaumont family, and known as High Leas Farm, retaining its integrity and identity as a working farm with the old farmhouse. |
