D2614/E/4/4 Letter from R H Bing (addressee not named) asking for an application to be made for a friend Mr H T Ford of Burton to Lord Howe’s agent in London for some plaster land at Thrumpton, Nottinghamshire (with further detail), dated 26 April 1872
D2614/E/4/9 agreement made between 1) Alexander Manful and Robert Meakin, both of Chellaston, trustees under the will of the late William Manful deceased with the consent of Elizabeth, William’s wife and 2) Robert Henry Bing of Stapenhill whereby 1. Agreed to let to 2. all the pits, beds and strata of plaster or gypsum in Chellaston parish under land containing 19 acres 7 perches, for 7 years beginning 6 November 1872, at rent of peppercorn for 6 months, then £180 annually and a royalty of 2s 6d for every ton of best stone, pottery and seconds and £4 p.a. rent for all surface land used and compensation to the tenant of such land [further details concerning royalties and rent] with provision for voidance of agreement if the plaster is not worth working. Dated 6 November 1872
