Description
There are scattered minutes of Deacons' meetings, c1849-1872 and also brief minutes for the Christian Co-operating Society 1819-1822. The church meeting minutes are not always detailed and there are also memoranda of collections and admissions and removals of members; and the resolution and rules, 29 Feb 1816. At the front of the volume: plan of church, showing dates of building of boundary wall, scale 12 in to 10ft, mid 19th C; meeting minutes re loan to build the minister's house (1 Jun 1812) and interment of Ann Turner (31 Oct 1817); extracts from the wills of Thomas Wilson of Highbury Place, Islington, Middlesex (2 Dec 1793) re bequest of land and a meeting house at Derby and of John Ellis of Derby for a bequest to the Calvinist Chapel at Brookside, Derby; note of conveyance of Coxbench chapel to Trustees, 29 Oct 1828; building of London Road chapel, c1841; donation of Elizabeth Humphries to the poor of the Victoria Street Congregation, lent to the trustees of the Little Eaton Chapel, 20 May 1854; copy of Church rules (c1800); rules of the Connection under the patronage of Lady Ann Erskine meeting at the Chapel in Derby erected by Thomas Wilson of London, 1793 and note of separation from that connection in 1796. At the back of the volume: list of members with dates of admission and "disposal", 1787-1872; brief history of the ministers of the church, 1785-1801; resolutions re burials, the graveyard and provision of an organ, 1801, 1802, 1826 and 1834.
