| Description | Reciting inter alia that Brook Boothby is seised of the manor of Ashbourne and Skrymsher of a house and shop in Ashbourne, formerly George Taylor’s and in order to prevent a dispute as to whether this property, which White is to buy, is copyhold within Ashbourne manor or freehold, Brook Boothby has agreed to enfranchise it. For £5 5s paid to Boothby and £94 15s paid to Skrymsher by White, Skrymsher conveyed house and shop in Ashbourne in White’s possession, 37 ft by 15ft, with cellar, warehouse, storehouse etc to White, subject to 8d rent and service at Ashbourne manor courts and to interest at 5% on £100 bequeathed by George Taylor in his will of 2 May 1668 to be distributed to the poor and for preaching a sermon (details given) |
