Description
From Rome. Death of son of `poor May'; Georgiana dangerously ill, advises Philip towards reconciliation. Gell is erecting 3 pavilions sent to him as New Year's gift by Lady Ruthven from Scotland; has not quarrelled with Mary Nicholas although she abused Queen [Caroline] who had been very kind to her ten years ago; Mary Nicholas has quarrelled with her Swiss maid, a republican, who threatened to throw her out of the window until Lord St Vincent responded to her call for help.
