This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
Endorsed on reverse 'Ashlehay' n.d. [c1709] Surveyor: [S.Hutchinson] Scale: no scale [1:5000]. Size: 36 x 40 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK295505. Notes: estate plan, 172 acres, includes area Brownhouse Farm and Norman Hill Farm, 2 farmsteads shown in elevation; woods, paths, stream: closes with single line boundary, field-names, area, tenants: 4 detached closes marked '… within Wirksworth and plotted there': many rough calculations.
