Letter from Richard Radcliff at Manchester [Lancashire] to his father in law, Sir John Gell - Lord Strange has been appointed Lord Lieutenant by the King and has seized the magazines at Liverpool and Preston - was prevented from taking that at Manchester - have assembled 1000 armed men to resist Strange - there have been negotiations but they have rejected Strange's suggestions
