| Title | Petition of John Gell and the Ministers to the Lord Chamberlain and one of the Privy Council - there are about 15 ministers about the Peak who have tithes of lead ore which bring in a great part of their maintenance and are like to be undone if it is taken from them - they fear your honour is greatly misinformed in the cause - the paying of the tithe is no prejudice to the lot and cope - the petitions have a clear tithe being proved in two verdicts at the Common Pleas Bar, one decree in the Exchequer and injunction out of Chancery and an injunction out of the Court of Wards - ask for furtherance at the Council to have possession according to their right |
