Parish of Old Whittington St Bartholomew
Administrative History
This is one of the ancient parishes in the county. The original church was demolished in 1863. The replacement church was destroyed in a fire in January 1895 and the present church opened in September 1896. The parish includes parts of Sheepbridge and included New Whittington until 1927. Part of the parish was transferred to the new parish of Newbold in 1861 (see D2398).
