Description	- "The assassin who attempted to murder Philpott has hanged himself in prison ... Philpott continues getting better" 7 August 1822 (D239/M/E/13420) - Old and new assessments for the poor rate in West Farleigh. 12 September 1822 (D239/M/E/13421) - Has done all the alterations in the house at West Farleigh apart from plastering the inside of the necessary and putting the seat in; reports on rents received. 31 October 1822 (D239/M/E/13422) - Has only made 8 bottles of cherry brandy - the wasps destroyed most of the crop. 11 September 1823 (D239/M/E/13426) - Fears that Philpott's hop crop is very poor; requires 140 holly plants to replace dead ones in the hedges. 9 October 1823 (D239/M/E/13427) - Reports on rents received and future tenancy arrangements. 28 October - 11 November 1823 (D239/M/E/13428-29) - Old and new poor rate assessment, and estate rental. 7 November 1825 (D239/M/E/13439) - Richard Groombridge of East Farleigh, blacksmith, has begun to erect a forge on Farleigh Green. 30 November 1827 (D239/M/E/13442) - Has sent a bushel of best baking apples to Lord St. Helens; is making enquires about a terrier for Sir Henry. 17 December 1827 (D239/M/E/13443) - Groombridge persists in erecting his forge despite orders to the contrary. 18 February 1828 (D239/M/E/13444) - Reports the death of his wife Jane. 20 August 1832 (D239/M/E/13452) - Reports on an excellent harvest. 15 August 1834 (D239/M/E/13457) - Has just learnt that the premises at West Farleigh belonging to the Dean and Chapter of Rochester are to be sold. 3 November 1834 (D239/M/E/13460)
