Sir Vauncey
As you did not
reply to my letter yesterday
will you let me know
what you wish arranged.
Believe me when I
tell you I am so bitterly miserable I
ask you to do anything
to make some definite
arrangement. I asked
Lady Crewe if she
would let me see
Freddy after I had left
and she said “Ask
Sir Vauncey”. Do please
do this. It is the
greatest favour I can
ask for and she
wants it herself. Do
anything you like with
the money. Beastly stuff
what do you think I
care about a few
pounds only please
do this. It is because
I love her so much
tho’ perhaps you will
not understand. You
can send those wretched
notes, cheque, or whatever
it is to a governess House
and do the other for
me. Will you? Please [underscored 3 times]
do,
Truly[?] yours
Miss S Hamp-Adams
