Showing two closes "below the Barn" , an osier plantation, a brook, road and two more pieces of gorse land, with acreages
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
Endorsed 'Plan of part of Melbourne Common proposed to be given up to Mr. George Orton' [18c.]. Scale: no scale shown. Size: 38 x 52 cm. Materials: sepia ink and pencil on stiff paper. Centred on: ?SK3724 Notes: no orientation. Sketch plan showing 4 enclosures, 19 acres, with osier plantation, gorse and brook. Location:DRO, D2375M/71/137
