TRANSLATION Know all men by these present writings that I, John Halswayn of Chellaston, kinsman and heir to John Bonde of the same, have remised, released and forever quitclaimed entirely for me and my heirs to John Chapman of the same Chellaston all my right and claim which I have or in any way could have of and in one messuage, fourteen pence of annual rent issuing from one messuage in the tenure of the aforesaid John Chapman of the same and in five pence of annual rent which the same John Bonde lately had from certain lands and tenements from John Chapman. So that neither I, the aforesaid John Halswayn, nor my heirs, nor any other in our name may be able henceforth to demand any right or lay any claim of and in the aforesaid messuage, fourteen pence and five pence of annual rents and which after the death of Agnes the late wife of John Bonde, the aforesaid John Halswayn is no longer related to or heir of John Bonde and we (John Halswayn and his heirs) should be excluded forever from all legal action, right or claim. In witness of which matter I apply my seal to these present writings. Given at Chellaston the first day of May in the fourteenth year of the reign of King Henry the sixth after the conquest of England |
