TRANSLATION
Know (all men) present and future that I, John Franceys of Tykenale, have given, granted and by this my present charter confirmed to John de Burton, chaplain, And William le Smith, chaplain, all my lands and tenements in Stonistanton and in le Kalk, which formerly were of Hugh Barfot [?Barfoot], with all church advowsons, revenues, reversions and all other of my property possessions with all their appurtenances in Stonistanton and in le Kalk; To Have and to hold [?] all the aforesaid (lands and) tenements with all their appurtenances to the aforesaid John and William and their heirs and their assigns, of the chief lords of that fee by the services from thence owed and accustomed by right forever. And I truly the aforesaid John and my heirs will warrant and defend against all people all my lands and tenements in Stonistanton and in le Kalk, with all licences, actions, revenues, pensions and all other of my property possessions to the aforesaid John and William and their heirs and their assigns forever. In witness of which matter I (apply) my seal to this my present charter. These (being) witnesses: Robert Fenton de Engilby, John Martin, John Assewelle and others. Given at Stonistanton on the Sunday following the Annunciation of the Blessed Mary in the [hidden] year of the reign of King Richard the second after the conquest [hidden].
