Comprising court rolls for Alstonefield, 1569-1593
On the first page is a copy of an agreement between John Weston and Nicholas Chadwick, by mediation of John Harpur, readjusting the payments for a sale of two farms in Alstonefield bought originally for £27 6s 8d.
At the back are various notes, including confirmation by John Harpur of a grant to Robert Ryley and Ellen his wife of a farm called Nether Bowsley, late 16th cent: an account of payment of fines of the manor court, late 16th cent: a note on Curson's lands at Chaddesden, late 16th cent: a note of the surrender of a messuage called Scoleclough by Adam Foxes, his son Adam Foxe and his grandson William Foxe to [?] Fitzherbert, Apr 1583: and a suit list [attendance list] of free tenants at the manor court, 1587
Loose inside: a jury list for 21 April 1593
The book is bound in a parchment cover.
