Is waiting in the hope of an improvement in the market: mentions Ball, a dealer. Acknowledges Ogden's advice about disposal of books but despairs about getting the task done. Reports opinion of Mr Hough (late secretary of the Veg[eterian] Soc[iety]) in relation to matters to do with the other legatees. Gives news of forthcoming departure of her tenants: dreads the task of finding new tenants. Reports positively in detail about her library work. Mentions past and forthcoming performances of Judas Macc[abeus]: apprehensive about limited rehearsal. Lists other forthcoming concerts. Bemoans the absence of bibliographies and catalogues at Whaley Bridge. Asks about progress with the Shakespeare portrait. Sympathises at news of Mrs Cannell - "the result of trying to run a job and a husband" - and about Ogden's troublesome knee. |
